Deepfakes

Unfortunately starting to see Deepfake ads on Instagram. The apps and websites were promoting removing women’s clothing without consent after uploading a few photos of the subject. I reported them, but it is disturbing that the algorthim recommended to me. I didn’t get a chance to see where the link led to, but it appeared to be an App. Hopefully, not on either Apple’s or Google’s respective stores.

One would hope that there would be somewhat rigorous review of people that Meta is taking and the App stores are taking money from. However, it seems they have tried to automate most of the work away. Hell, Meta’s own moderators are known to suffer mental health issues due to the content they see on its platforms. Its one thing to host the content with Section 230, but its a completely different thing to recommend and take money for these.

The free speech and technology is something I plan to write upon later. Also, companies willingness to release new tech without thinking about the reprocussion. Hello! AI generated images without watermarks or any meaningful to mark them as such.
